Sacrament of Confirmation

At our 10.30am Mass on Sunday 17th November, we welcomed Charles and Nicolas Robertson, Alex Frost, Catherine Byers and Pascal Herington to be confirmed.

Although it is receiving the Eucharist that brings us into full communion with the Church, and this often precedes Confirmation, Confirmation emphasises an individual‟s public commitment to Jesus; the Holy Spirit inspires the candidates to become witnesses to their faith. This implies service and a generous sharing of their gifts to build the Kingdom.

We as community gather close in solidarity and fellow witness as candidates make their public witness; we invoke the Holy Spirit to empower them and us her gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Awe.
