Railaco – Blog

Father Steve Sinn, Duncan Campbell and Michael Musgrave from St Canice’s in Elizabeth Bay/Kings Cross travelled to Timor-Leste in the first week of August 2009.

Our intention was to immerse ourselves for three days in the activities of the Railaco Jesuit community in the mountains outside Dili.

We wanted to show our solidarity with Bong, a Filipino Jesuit priest and doctor who is responsible for a mobile clinic and a feeding program for children in remote villages, and with Sister Rita, a retired Good Samaritan nun from Australia who is running the Secondary school. Father Steve also was passionate about conveying to the local people that they were not forgotten and our visit was intended to reinforce that.
