Carols at Canice’s 2015 – ‘The Trumpet Shall Sound’

The Trumpet did sound and the community was raised . . . . for six wonderful minutes by the glorious rendition of the last verse from G F Handel’s ‘Messiah’ at Carols at Canice’s on Sunday afternoon. Our cantor, Greg McCreanor was joined in this splendid performance by Claudine Michael our organist and Ian on trumpet.

It was tears for others as soprano Samanta sang ‘O Holy Night’.

We are certainly very fortunate to have such musicians contributing to the life of the parish.

Canice Kitchen has been serving meals to people in some need for 25 years now. Our cantor, Greg, organised Carols at Canice’s not only to entertain and give back to a community that sustains him, but to support the work of Canice’s Kitchen. He and and the other musicians, Claudine, Samanta and Ian are delighted that their concert raised $1,000 towards their cause.

Musicians: Ian Cox trumpet, Claudine Michael organ, Greg McCreanor baritone, Samanta Lestavel soprano.
