𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒔!

And with good numbers at the special Gaudete ‘Joyful’ Sunday Mass st St Canice’s this morning, it’s beginning to feel a lot like ‘community’ once more.

Fr Dave Braithwaite SJ spoke of the importance of ‘Memory’ in our lives.

“𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒐𝒑𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔, 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 – 𝑫𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒎. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒂 𝑯𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒖𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕 𝒊n𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒖𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔.

There’s nothing like ‘Hail, Queen of Heaven’, to energise the congregation into singing our Recessional hymn today, (and then to give themselves a spontaneous round of applause!)

Morning tea follows in the church hall. So many stay on and enjoy mingling – renewing friendships and getting to know newcomers. Beef sliders, lamb kofta and chicken skewers – all washed down by Sevenhill wines from the Jesuit vineyards in South Australia.

Christmas is just around the corner. Young, old, newcomers, you are all welcome at St Canice’s . Here are our Christmas Mass times for your convenience.
